Like they say, “it’s a great day at the Y!” And it was … September 22, that is. Amid hundreds of young volleyball players and their families and fans, and weekend warrior exercisers, our Hoopla reigned supreme. Most of our hoopers were ages six to fourteen, and their specialities were multi-hooping. You should’ve seen the kids with five and six hoops! The Pickle Mama’s told us at the book launch Hoopla that ten minutes of hooping can burn around one hundred calories, so I figure hooping for two minutes with five and six hoops can cut your time in half!

Hoopers, young and old, were on hand for the Celebrate NC Sports day at the North Carolina Museum of History. The weather was beautiful, The Vegetable Circus a delight, and the hosts spectacular. Peggy Noodle, Hula Hoop Queen is now a fixture in the NC Museum of History’s gift shop, so it would be great if you’d buy a copy when you’re visiting … and make sure to thank them for supporting local authors and independent publishers. Thanks!

Check out images from the NOFO HOOPLA on March 31, 2012.
Despite our requests to the contrary, Mother Nature dished up a rainy day for our HOOPLA at NOFO at the Pig on Saturday, March 31 from 11 am – 2 pm! So we slipped into our wellies, broke out the tents and umbrellas, and shined!

There were over 200 people there, which made for an exciting day! It was held at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in downtown Apex, and featured an awesome demonstration from The Pickle Mamas, and guest judges Ira David Wood III and Carol Crane.
