I’ll See You at the Peak City Book Festival

peak_festivalI’ll be hanging out at the first annual Peak City Book Festival on November 9 at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in downtown Apex. Lots of exciting events are planned throughout the day, from 11 am – 5 pm, like:
  • Kid-friendly story time sessions: sponsored by The Learning Experience of Apex, sessions are scheduled every 45 minutes so that parents and children can enjoy the time reading with different authors;
  • Street Art Workshop with High School Arts Teacher, Ian Sands;
  • Creative writing for Young Writers with best selling author, Ann Eisenstein;
  • Face Painting;
  • Ice Cream from The Ice Cream Shop, Apex; and
  • “Froggie Bags” with a prize and snack.

For writers and curious readers, best-selling author, Tamara Ward will be discussing how to use experience-based research in writing a novel.  She’ll be discussing her experiences at the Writer’s Police academies, where she learned first-hand that hands-on research is a great way to enhance fiction writing. Life Protection Skills will be presenting a some of their martial arts approaches to everyday situations; writer and producer, Brian Barnette, will lead a discussion on producing the documentary, What Michael Sees.

Oh, yeah … and there will be LOTS of books for sale … even my young reader chapter book, Peggy Noodle, Hula Hoop Queen.

pcpDon’t forget: SIGN UP HERE for the North Carolina Prize Pack, with prizes valued at over $100!
