Hooping with History … Saturday, June 9

My publisher, Peak City Publishing, and I will be joining the action-packed day about North Carolina sports at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh on Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The free event: Celebrate North Carolina Sports”  will feature activities for all ages. See famous NASCAR stock cars, watch the Bouncing Bulldogs jump rope team, talk with athletes, and more. Jump into games and hands-on activities … like hula hooping. Admission and parking are FREE! The event is presented as part of the statewide 2nd Saturdays program series.

We’ve invited the The Vegetable Circus to join is for a hooping jam and demonstrations. The Vegetable Circus uses the arts to teach children creative and exciting ways to grow up healthy. Interactive assembly shows, structured multi-week after-school enrichment programs and hands-on workshops educate kids about healthy eating habits in an engaging and light-hearted way. The goal is to introduce children to healthy, confidence-raising activities that support their development.
